Scouting in Stirling & Trossachs

Welcome to Stirling & Trossachs District Scouts!

The district is home to over 1000 young people in Scouting and over 300 adult leaders.  We have 13 Scout Groups, 3 Explorer Units, Young Leaders / Network and a Scout Active Service Team.

The district has a highly diverse geographical landscape stretching from Killin in the North East to Strathblane in the South West.  The area has two national parks, nine lochs and nineteen munros to climb, but also has five outdoor centres – Barrwood, The Craigs, Auchengillan (owned by Clyde), Lochearnhead and Invertrossachs.

Scouting for children aged between 6yrs and 14yrs is provided at a Group level with Scout Groups ranging as far west as Drymen, to the south-west Strathblane, Killearn and Balfron and as far north as Killin, as well as several in and around Stirling. The Scout Groups are shown on the map and listed below with information on the Group's own websites where these exist, and contacts for enquiries to the  Group.  If you're not sure who to contact then you can always send an enquiry to the District Commissioner using this form.

Scouting for children between 14yrs and 18yrs is provided through several District level Explorer Scout Units which are listed below.

We welcome adults into Scouting in our Network Section, for young adults and our SAS (Scout Active Support) Unit for all adults with an interest in supporting Scouting in the District.  Contacts for these are also given below.

The district is part of Forth Region Scouts along with Clackmannanshire, Falkirk and West Lothian.
