About the Charity / organisation
Stirling & Trossachs Scout Council is a Charity which manages & supports the regional Scout groups (most of which are registered Charities in their own right). The Scout Council produces its own accounts and submits them to the Scottish Charity Regulator, OSCR, annually. The Council supports Scouting activities for over 1,000 young people in Stirling and outlying areas.

About the vacancy
A Treasurer is required to replace the current incumbent (who is retiring after 10 years’ service). The role is to manage the Scout Council's simple Cash Book / Excel accounting records. Attendance is expected at the 4 Council Executive Meetings per annum, one of which is the AGM where the Treasurer will present the year's accounts.
The role is as Trustee, Treasurer and authorised Bank Signatory.
This position helps facilitate the many scouting events and activities for over 1,000 young people in the Stirling area (from Stirling to Strathblane). There is a general (e-mail/telephone support for Groups and a simple over-seeing role of their annual Accounts which are already produced and independently examined).
General financial support of Scouting activities is given, and challenges are made where there is any uncertainty / need for improved financial control.
Time commitment
Average 1 hour per week (home/laptop) plus 4 x 2-hour meetings per year. Ongoing "Accounts" for meetings and (simple) Annual Accounts. Some weeks nothing required. E-mail communication with other Council members/groups is very manageable.
