Many of you will have been to our District Awards evenings in previous years. Before the pandemic we had hoped to make the celebration of Awards for both Young People and Leaders an annual event, which sadly hasn't been the case due to restrictions.

This year, however, we are back!

We have decided to run two seperate events this year. The first will be held in order to congratulate all of our Young People who have gained top awards in their sections. The second is to congratulate all of our Leaders that have gained long service and other awards, as well as to thank every Leader and member of this District.

The original date in the diary of Wednesday 20th April 2022 will be used for the Young People.

An additional date of Sunday 8th May 2022 has now been added to the calendar for the Leader Awards evening - please add this to your diaries!

On the 5th December Active Support are holding their first social event since before Covid19. It will be a low key affair but will allow members to meet up without a paintbrush, spade or screwdriver in their hands.

Meeting at Beechwood at 13.30, we will have a 1.5 hour walk taking in some of the main features of Stirling before returning to Beechwood for a cuppa, cake and a blether. Members should contact Colin if they wish to go, as should any members who want to skip the walk but join the rest afterwards at Beechwood. We will wind up at about 16.00.

If anyone else would like to join us and find out more about Active Support, please contact Colin Smith at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. or visit the ABOUT US section of this website

As some of you will already know, after 7 years in the post of Booking Secretary, Carla Wilson has stepped down from the role, but we have been very lucky in finding such an able replacement in Catherine Collington. Cath is already getting to grips with the booking procedures, and it has been something of a baptism of fire as she has had to deal with the start up of the centre for day use and then for camping. I'm sure you will find Cath every bit as helpful as Carla in dealing with your bookings and enquiries.

I would like to thank Carla for her tireless work over the years, for being our first point of contact for the site, and the quiet competance with which she dealt with the unusual and unexpected, as well as the mundane. I know that latterly she was finding it challenging, due to extra pressures at work caused by the Covid pandemic, and I am sure you will join with me in wishing Carla all the best.

We are also at this time carrying out a review of our booking process. An amended procedure will in place for next year, details of which will be uploaded to the Invertrossachs webpages in late November, and will include a new Booking Form, Payment Form, and Water Activity Enquiry Form.
